"Melodramatic popular song" is right; Such an accurate description to the perspective offered by the sound of The City Snapshot. What is fun about this music, from a listener's standpoint, is how the artist doesn't hesitate to put himself down and call himself a "creep" as in "Fear and Loathing" where their views on relationships, loneliness, and sexual encounters are expressed in detail. "Owl Eyes" is cool.
My favorite cut from this City Snapshot experience just happens to be "Jim Jones." The sacrilegious cry lands quite light on the ears with a similar melody as Andre 3000's "Take Off Your Cool" combined with an exhausted delivery of confused expressions. The pics of the artist dressed in a cardigan, wearing g-shock accessories and holding flowers lead me to expect friendlier lyrics. This was my mistake, setting myself up, not for disappointment, but I guess you shouldn't have particular expectation for guys who can "Breath Under Water," as stated in their EP's title.
