Boy, You Aint Got No Damn Gold! pt.2

Being fly and fashionable are sometimes confused with being materialistic.
Furthermore, fashionistas are often characterized as being high maintenance.
Can the fly and fashionable be materialistic and high maintenance??? Yes! But
should it be synonymous??? Absolutely not. And if you really wanna take it THERE
(oh, and I’m gonna go THERE) some people totally get the game effed up and
lump all females who prefer the finer things in life as “gold diggers” ßI really,
really despise that phrase. It is so overused that meaning has been warped &
distorted. I feel the same way about “swag” but I digress…

A female who prefers designer labels, fine dining, and has a standing weekly
salon & spa appointment should not be automatically deemed as a gold digger.
The term gold digger should not refer to what you have or do, but instead refer
to the resources that fund those luxury possessions and activities. Additionally,
the term should be reserved for those women whose primary goal in a relationship
is to use her significant other for financial & material gain.

In 2009, there are many “self-made” females who earn as much of their
male counterparts and are content with using their own wealth to fund their
desired lifestyles (sing it with me “I love her cause she got her own, she don’t
need mine, she says leave mine alone…”).

Because Knight didn’t know my friend very well, we can only assume that he
assessed her exterior to determine that she may be the gold-digging type
(designer attire, very well-groomed, etc.) and the Ruth Chris request was the
icing on the cake. I’m sure that he thought that all these things were indicative
of the type of person he perceived her to be, but what did the situation say about
him? Let’s not forget that within five minutes of meeting her he was buying her
Rose’ and talking about hanging out in Vegas. Can you really accuse someone of
being a “gold digger” if a “money bag” is the only image you’ve presented of
yourself??? Silly rabbit…

The moral of the story is don’t judge a fly book by her cover & be careful of who
you accuse of diggin’ in your pockets when it’s obvious that your pockets aren’t
that deep. Fly recognize fly, so stay in your lane, lol.
