I know this is a little late, but I'm still catching up from last week. However here's another dope mixtape from "Mr. Food & Liquor". I'm definitely diggin this one, been in my rotation since last Thursday. I'm sure you all will enjoy!
As we approach this holiday season, there is so much for which to be thankful. On Thursday, I will be thankful for a day off from work, quality time w/my fam, and all the wonderful food that I’m sure will keep me out of my jeans I’ve been working out so hard to get my butt back in. My inner fat girl will gladly profess that Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday but my inner diva’s heart belongs to the other holiday she will celebrate this week… BLACK FRIDAY!!!
Now Black Friday has been characterized with crazed shoppers storming through the sliding doors at Wal-Mart at the crack of dawn but my love for Black Friday comes from a much different place. You have to understand, I come from a long line of fashionistas (my 60 year-young great aunt has a shoe game to die for!!!) and this is the one day of the year that I get to bond with them.
Most of my fam lives in Philadelphia and Thanksgiving is the one holiday that we all make the trip to spend it together. In between meals and football commercial breaks (not only is my great fashion sense genetic, but so is my love for football) we devise a game plan for Black Friday: “What time do you wanna meet?... There are some many new outlets by King of Prussia. They have a French Connection, Miss Sixty, and Last Call… K, I know you wanna go there.”
The next morning we assemble, usually around 10am. My grandmother is up making my pancakes and turkey sausage as I get dressed. I know I’ve told you guys before to put your best foot forward when getting dressed but this is def one day I get very well acquainted with the more casual side of my wardrobe (sweatpants, hair tied, chillin with no makeup on). This makes the frequent trips to the fitting room so much easier.
Anyways, once my mom and I have met up with my aunts and cousins, we split off into teams and our caravan of SUVs head out toward King of Prussia. For many years, my cousin Janelle and I were the youngest in the group and I loved it because we were the center of attention. One of my fondest Black Friday memories is from my high school years. We all know the pressures of keeping up with the Jones at that age and I had my fam search every high-end department store in the Philly metro area to find me the Manolo boots that that look like high-heeled Timberlands (and hell no I wasn’t gonna wait for the Steve Madden knock-offs). We finally found them in a Neiman’s but I was sad to learn that they didn’t have a pair in my size 6 (which I’m sure pleased my mom because she was obviously experiencing a temporary moment of insanity or didn’t know how much Manolos go for when she agreed to go half with me, lol). One of my proudest Black Friday moments was last year when my 12 year-old mini me Yasmine told her mom “Can I just have my money? I don’t need you to shop with me, I’m going with K.” **tear** Aww, the torch has been passed.
I know you guys are used to me writing about dating and romantic relationships but as I sit here and realize that I may not make it to Philly this year, I decided to share with you the relationship that means the most to me, my fam.
Stay tuned, next week I’ll have holiday gift giving tips for the special fashionista or fly guy in your life.
Fly recognize fly and it’s in my DNA. J

By sheer numbers alone, Killington, Vermont (802.621.6867. www.killington.com)
rules in the East: It offers more lifts, more runs, more vertical feet,
and more skiable terrain than any other ski area in the region. From the
summit of Killington Peak, beginners can ski down runs as much as 10 miles
in length. Killington is best known for its mogul slopes, the steepest in New
England; called the Outer Limits, it features bumps that are often taller than skiers.

Please excuse my grand enTRANCE. While I am far from a poet, you will find as we develop a ‘blogaship’ i.e. relationship between bloggers and their readers, that I’m quite the drama queen. Many of you may know me from my personal blog (http://www.cagreinvented.com/) . . .or not. (lol) Cheap plug I know, but check it out anyway! (Smile) However, this post isn’t about me necessarily...Well not completely. It’s about my decision to partner with my peoples at Water N Oxygen to discuss the orgasmic areas for which I become overzealous and aroused. While your mind continues to plummet in the gutter of ridiculousness, no I’m not referring to my g-spot. No it’s much better than that. I’m talking about my passion for fashion and everything it encompasses. While I would love to share my first climax experience in the women’s shoe department of Nordy’s, I will spare the details for another time and by special request only. (lol) Today, I will briefly address a rising trend in fashion for which I feel extremely torn; the OVER THE KNEE (OTK) BOOT.
I am not at all a huge proponent of this recent fashion phenomenon. My lack of enthusiasm probably stems from the fact that I’m short and cautious of contraptions that may interfere with the comfort of my va-jay-jay (lol). However, I will say this. If you CAN NOT afford to spend at least $300+ the OTK boots, you really need to move on and find a good below the knee alternative. There’s nothing to be ashamed of! I’m in the same boat! However, if you can afford some quality OTK boots, I would suggest some of the following options to add to your collection. (Note: When I say afford I’m not talking about spending your rent money in hopes of not getting evicted for the sake of fabulousness) Finally, if you do decide to try the cheaper OTK option, please do not get offended if you someone confuses you for a stripper in the local shaky butts.
With that being said, I’m out people! Thanks for the warm welcome (that you can express in the form of comments...wink) Until next time...Stay FAB!!

WNO does not highlight alot of new artist but we will say that Nipsey
is the truth!!! We have been spinning this joint at the office for the
past few weeks (a record at our office). Check this out and let me know what you think.
I have to let it be known that I don't support either side of this beef. With that side this is the funniest SH!T ever. If you don't know Rick Ross has a beef with Floyd Mayweather. The fact that he is posing in pics with RickRoss son at his house!!! Also pay attention to how when 50 leaves Tia(rick rossbaby mother) doesn't leave with him.
Here at WNO we are always looking to support a good cause, and as you know there are many to choose from, however we always have a soft spot for major issues such as Breast cancer. Gotta save the ta-ta's...lol, I love that slogan. But honestly this isn't a laughing matter we all know someone who has been touched by this issue so take the time to check this out, I'm sure it will reach those of you that it should!
(L to R) The Visionary Girls are Amanda Cassel, Christine Romer, Sylvie Forrest, Alice Crisci, Lisa Hochberg and Ito Maya.
LOS ANGELES – Nov. 12, 2009 – The change of the calendar from October to November doesn’t mean breast cancer research and education comes to a stop. To the contrary: at My Vision, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit agency devoted to preserving the fertility of young women affected by cancer, the fight continues in high gear with a special charity auction of a pink Vespa LX 50, accessorized by a V-shaped diamond necklace. Anyone can bid starting Nov. 12 through Dec. 3, 2009, by visiting http://www.charityfolks.com/cfauctions/auction_bid.asp?AuctionID=17984&catname=Cars+%26+Vehicles&mcid=10951.

One-hundred percent of the online auction proceeds will support My Vision’s unique work. Breast cancer is the leading cancer affecting women in the age 18 to 45 reproductive years. Chemotherapy, surgery and other cancer treatments can make it extremely difficult for a woman to ever have children and can even cause sterility.
“Women have just two to six weeks to consider their fertility options prior to treatment,” said Alice Crisci, founder of My Vision. “And sadly, only 10 percent of oncologists discuss fertility options with their patients. My hope is to give all women a chance to preserve their eggs before undergoing cancer treatment.”
Crisci was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 at the age of 31. Knowing she wanted to be a mother, she immediately sought answers to her infertility concerns and found very few medical or financial resources to help. Prior to her double mastectomy, she decided to have one round of in vitro fertilization done at the Southern California Reproductive Center. After retrieving 31 eggs, Alice’s doctors where able to preserve 14 frozen embryos with donor sperm from the California Cryobank (CCB) and 11 frozen eggs. Undergoing the fertility process and subsequent cancer treatments inspired Alice to start My Vision.
“At My Vision the letter “V” symbolizes vitality, vision and victory against the disease,” said Crisci. “It also represents Venus the goddess of love, beauty and fertility; so I decided to choose five inspiring breast cancer survivors who personify these characteristics to be our Visionary Girls.”
The Visionary Girls, all of whom were diagnosed with breast cancer in their late 20s to early 40s, are lending their energy to launch the auction and will also star in the 2010 My Vision calendar. Like breast cancer survivors around the world, they come from every walk of life. Lisa Hochberg is a Wharton Business School graduate, business consultant and karaoke lover; Christine Romer is an avid golfer and MBA candidate at Pepperdine University; Sylvie Forrest is a french actress, award-winning sculptor, trained precious jewelry maker, and speaks four languages; Amanda Cassel is a real estate analyst and supporter of Western/Eastern integrated medicine; Ito Maya is a Japanese interpreter; and Alice Crisci is an entrepreneur who frequently lectures and speaks about business topics. Uniting them is a cancer diagnosis that threatened their chances of becoming mothers. My Vision’s mission is to share their success stories with the thousands of women who face similar challenges to motherhood.
The “V” auction begins Nov. 12, 2009, and runs through 3 p.m. EST on Dec. 3, 2009. In addition to the pink Vespa LX 50 and the V-shaped diamond necklace, the winning bidder also receives an autographed, framed photo of all the Visionary Girls. More details can be found on My Vision’s Web site at http://www.charityfolks.com/cfauctions/auction_bid.asp?AuctionID=17984&catname=Cars+%26+Vehicles&mcid=10951 or on Vespa USA’s Web site at http://www.vespausa.com/.
About My Vision
My Vision is a breast cancer awareness project of community partners. The charity educates women touched by breast cancer during their reproductive years about the risk chemo poses to their fertility as well as the fertility preservation options available to patients prior to treatment. Founded by Alice Crisci a few weeks after her own cancer diagnosis, My Vision is a nonprofit organization that relies on the support of private donors to help protect the vision of each young woman's future when she is diagnosed with breast cancer or learns she carries the breast cancer gene. For more information visit their Web site at http://www.myvision.org/.

I know this is a little late but hey it happens, anyways we always feel its important to share good things when we experience them. With that being said last weekend was a good look for the W-N-O team. We made our way to the Nations capital to kick back and enjoy what the city had to offer. Last Thursday evening we attended a very sexy event called "The @ttic" at Station 9.
Now don't get me wrong I love checking out different genre's of entertainment, and I've attended my share of poetry events, but this was definitely one of my more memorable experiences. As soon as we hit the door the place was packed from one wall to the other with some of the sexiest people that DC, Maryland and VA had to offer. By this time I made a full scan of the room to check out the type of clientele this event had drawn in, and I was very impressed. Fellas' I've just gotta say the ladies looked great(good ratio), and ladies of course the men stepped out looking our best to match our counterparts. The one thing I love was the diversity of the crowd and the laid back atmosphere. Its rare that you can step out and it doesn't have to be a big production about dress code, V.I.P lines, or tell such and such I'm in the line... This was a great place to come as you are right off of the street or a great place to hit while on a date(Fella's I definitely recommend)!
However as the night progressed a number of artist took to the stage. Brook Yung gave a good performance with one of his fan favorites "History", then music duo Fly Gypsy did a soft preview for their upcoming show scheduled for the following night. This led to a great set up for the show's featured performer Sunni Patterson. She kept the crowd entertained with her poetry as well as her dialog in between poems. I have to say that this is the definition of a hard working women! She delivered poem after poem with her young son draped in her arms as she performed. To sum it all up Beny-Blaq Entertainment put on a good event for the those of you who are looking for an alternative to the bar or club scene. W-N-O definitely looks forward to the next show and other BBE events.
Humans are very aesthetic creatures and rely heavily on their sense of sight to process the world around them. The first thing you visually assess about a person is gender. The second most common visual assessment is race or ethnicity. This tendency to visually assess people is so primitive and innate, it usually takes no conscious thought on our behalf; it’s just natural.
Considering that all things evolve, how has all the bling, silicone injections, hair weaves, designer labels, etc of today effected the evolution of our natural visual assessments? How often do you judge a book by its cover???
Friday night, I had the most wonderful dinner date with my fave pretty girls (HEY LADIES!!!). Just as the first rounds of Sangria & Kir Royal hit the table, I proposed a question: On a first date, how heavily does a guy’s style effect your first impressions of him??? Immediately and unapologetically, everyone agreed that a guy’s outfit or overall sense of style could be a deal breaker (I mean really, would you go out in public with a dude in a FUBU sweat suit and blue Timberlands??? I’m open minded and a bit eccentric, but damn.) And no, my friends aren’t shallow and materialistic but as one of my pretty girls so eloquently put it “a first date is when you are supposed to put your best foot forward, so if you can’t get it right then, what am I to expect?” Remember, this visual assessment is only natural and while it may be PC to say “its what’s on the inside that really matters” how often do you get to that point of knowing someone on the inside if you are not first attracted to the outside? ( get your mind out of the gutter, not that “inside” lol)
Your grandmother always told you not to judge a book by its cover, but isn’t that why books have covers? If books didn’t have covers they would all look the same. The addition of the cover not only helps the book stand out and distinguish itself from others, it gives you a brief idea of what the book may be about. All of this insight is gained in a matter of seconds, without even turning the first page.
On a first date, let your fashionable exterior be your book cover. Every fashionista and fly guy knows how much their attire is an outward extension of their inner stylishness but it is especially important to be mindful of this when making a first impression (don’t try to be a diva dressed in librarian’s clothing… girl, who you think you fooling???) After all, a first date is like a job interview. You would never meet a perspective employer in sweats and dirty sneakers and just hope that your resume and charming personality would get you the job (think about it, the current job market is a lot like the dating scene – a whole lot a people looking but only a few choosing so u better make sure your “cover” is up to par to even be considered).
The moral of the story is you can only make a first impression once. Fly recognize fly so make sure your cover looks like a best seller. - CallMeKarrie
With a brisk fall coming down on us out of no where WNO felt we would share our opinion on what we would like to see the beautiful women all around the country wearing. Take a look and see what should be a new addition to your fall collection. All Saints Shrug
Marc Jacobs Admiral Sweater
All Saints Emelia Cardigan
These are just a few examples of Diana von Furstenburg
Luggage. From what WNO has seen so far they have some
really dope stuff. Check them out.

This is a new cut by Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson. I honestly just heard the melody playing in the background one day and it just kinda mellowed me out. However after hearing it a few times the lyrics finally started to kick in, and I've definitely had situations where I felt this way. Ladies and Gents this could be a good break up song to give to your significant other if you don't have the right words. Enjoy!
These two pitchers are used to serve that good extra sweet Kool-Aid
the WNO readers drink. Yall can pick these up HERE!!!
